On our way to Utah we had the unexpected surprise of getting stuck in Dallas.
Our plane was delayed in Louisville and therefore, we missed our connecting flight. Lucky for us though the airline took great care of us. They checked our luggage for free and then put us in a super nice hotel with free meals. The next day we got bumped up to first class and have since decided that it is the only way to fly.
A lot of people assumed it was a hassle to us but honestly, we loved it. It was nice having one more day to ourselves before the holiday craziness started. A little mini date night away.
Geez, your delay experience was much nicer than mine! I would have loved to been put up in a hotel for the night, instead I had to deal with an overtired/cranky 18-month-old the extra few hours at the airport...lucky ducks! :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously...that sounds like it would be fun. (with OR without kids) I think hotel stays are kinda cool...even if the bed is less comfy than my own, and we all would be in the same room. It just is a fun thing to do, so that's cool that you got to have an expense paid getaway with just the two of you. :)
